These three ayurvedic doshas, vat, pitta, and cough are present in everybody. However, the body consist of one of these elements. Here, I am going to talk about pitta died, how pitta appears on skin, pittas pacifying foods and its types. I am a pitta type and I will tell you normal behaviour changes due to pitta imbalance.

What is pitta imbalance and why it increases in body?

It is a process of rise of pitta in body and thus, body temperature increases. Therefore, why body temperature increases? There are simple and common reasons found in pitta body type.

The changes in temperature are due to aggravate acid in the body.

The acid increase due to no proper schedule of meal and many other reasons. Furthermore, eating processed food like, bakery products, fried and fast foods. Thus, another reason could be using clothes which are not 100% cotton. Thus, wearing cotton clothes are very helpful to release heat away in the body. If you are not wearing breathable clothes, then body temperature will keep on increasing.

How to reduce pitta (and heat) in body naturally?

Pitta or heat from the body can be removed naturally when we change the habits. These habits to learn, I took many years. However, I have now understood that what is the real meaning of pitta and to lower in body, what are the natural steps involves to get the rid of it for pitta body type.

  • Always bath with cold or room temperature water (except freezing weather condition).
  • Use of 100% cotton wears in every season (except winter).
  • Do not drink milk or milk related products after meal immediately. Drink only after two hours of the occasion.
  • Pitta man should never eat or avoid fried/fast foods.
  • One must fast at least once in a week.
  • Drink a lot of water (cold) water.
  • Never ever try hot drinks like tea and coffee more than once in a day, cold drinks are always welcome.
  • Do not eat very hot food, let it cool down.

In pitta diet, why it has advised that no use of hot things, only cold is good for pitta? There are reasons. Pitta in human body increases or elevated when warm food goes in stomach. Therefore, all the stored pittas in the stomach start spreading in the body through blood. Thus, pitta on skin started appearing in the many forms. One of the examples or forms is white patches, psoriasis appearing on the skin due to high in pitta dosha or many other skin diseases.

The symptoms of increase pitta in the body are very common. Such as memory loss, not able to remember quickly, in a short walk, you will feel tired, sweaty, stressful appearance and feeling hungry most of the time. The more you keep yourself cool, the more you will feel comfortable. Therefore, pitta people love travelling or walk in the evening. And, the most favourite season is winter. Drinking more water time to time, wearing breathable clothes, bye bye to fried and fast food will help you maintain your pitta body and keep you active and free of disease for pitta body type.

Which exercise is important for pitta doshas people and why?

When anybody does exercise means release of energy and heat occurs from the body. To get the energy, we need food, however, if we eat food without feeling hungry, the acid stored in the stomach did not get utilize properly. Thus, acid (pitta) keeps increase in the body. We have to keep consuming the acid or else it will spread into the body.

Spreading pitta in the body is being done when the internal environment becomes extreme hot (mix of acid and heat) from receiving heat in the stomach. Therefore, those heats comes from not wearing proper cotton clothes, eating fast food, fried food, body heating food like chicken and eggs and hot drink like tea and coffee.

However, the most significant food which are acidic nature, that includes, curd, tamarind, buttermilk, mangoes, pineapple and gooseberry. These foods are more prone to increase acid in the body. Therefore, there are two things, acid plus heat, from which leucoderma or vitiligo attack on the body.

I have vitiligo patches, and it has been more than 20 years. However, I am a survivor of vitiligo and learnt many things how to control it naturally. The below are my daily habits to control the pitta naturally.

The habits that I have quit to reduce Pitta and anybody can follow who has pitta body type

  • I stopped drinking tea and coffee
  • Started including rabbit food like carrot, cucumber, beetroot in daily meal at least (a bowl) once in a day.
  • Only wearing cotton clothes.
  • Bath in cold or room temperature water.
  • Go for swimming daily or weekly.
  • Ride bicycle daily
  • Only eat when you are supper hungry, and keep water handy.
  • Drink a lot of cold water, I prefer storing and drinking water from “earthen pot” in summer, and “copper pot” in winter and spring.
  • Avoid fermented foods and added more leafy vegetables, beans, and sprouts in my meal.
