Ireland's biggest loss in the music industry

Cause of death is unknown

Sinead had many ups and downs in her life. She had gotten married to a Muslim and got converted, changing her name to Shuhada Sadaqat. She kept her birth name, though.

In January 2022, she took to social media to share her biggest loss of her 17 year-old son Shane, who was found dead and reported missing for two days. She wrote: “he had decided to end his earthly struggle.”

The reason for her death is still unclear to her fans. "It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Sinéad," the singer's family said in a statement released Wednesday and cited by the BBC. Her family and friends are distraught and have asked for privacy during this difficult time."
