Maria Khan

Dr Maria Khan is a scholar, theatre director, and teacher who moves between the classroom and the stage. She holds a PhD from Cambridge, where her research focused on staging Goethe’s Faust with Turkish-German students in Berlin, and she now teaches humanities at Bard High School Early College Queens, where she founded the Bard Greek Project. Her directing work spans Stoppard, Aristophanes, and original devised pieces across Cambridge, Berlin, and Lahore, and her acting credits include a run at Shakespeare’s Globe as part of Pakistan’s touring production. Trained in dance and raised in Lahore, she brings a cross-cultural sensibility to both her scholarship and her stage work.
