My last year ended in Bangalore, while I traveled to Mysore and visited one of the jails of Tipu Sultan and his burial place. Tipu Sultan's Water Jail in Mysore took my breath away.

Have you ever heard the name, Tipu Sultan? He was known as the Tiger of Mysore and was born on November 20, 1750. He ruled the kingdom of Mysore and was well known for his innovative administration.

I visited his famous jail. It was interesting to know some facts about Tipu, like how he used to keep British prisoners in that jail.

He used to tie prisoners to stones on the left and right sides of the jail and fill the jail with water. The prisoners used to die in jail when the water level filled their nostrils and left them to die.
