Constantly increasing devotees to Kedarnath as a result, ultimately rise in unbearable Kedarnath animal abuse. Kedarnath is a town located in the Rudraprayag district of the state of Uttarakhand, India. It is situated in the Himalayas at an altitude of approximately 3,583 meters (11,755 feet) above sea level. Kedarnath is famous for its ancient and sacred Hindu temple, the Kedarnath Temple.
The Kedarnath Temple is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas (shrines of Lord Shiva) and holds immense religious significance for Hindus. It is believed to have been constructed by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century AD, although the original temple might have been built earlier. The temple is surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty, with snow-capped peaks and the Mandakini River flowing nearby.
Therefore, thousands of tourists visit the temple every year. Also, PM Modi is a great fan of Lord Shiva, and his recent visit was on October 21, 2023.
Every year, thousands of devotees undertake a pilgrimage to Kedarnath to seek blessings from Lord Shiva. The temple is accessible only for a limited period of around six months, from April/May to October/November due to heavy snowfall during the winter months. Pilgrims usually have to trek for about 16 kilometers (10 miles) from Gaurikund, the base camp, to reach the temple. However, alternative means of transportation, such as helicopters, are also available.

Devotees who are over the age of 50 use horses to climb the hill in order to visit the temple. However, a recent video shared on Instagram went viral. Two men were making the horse smoke forcefully. The intention behind the forceful smoking of weed on the horse was not identified. This has been reported to the police station.
"We have taken cognizance of the viral video wherein a horse is forcefully given smoke. We are trying to identify the men in the video," The police department said.

In 2013, Kedarnath faced a devastating natural disaster when heavy rainfall and subsequent flash floods caused widespread damage in the region. The floods and landslides led to the loss of many lives and caused significant destruction to the town and the temple. However, reconstruction efforts have been undertaken to restore the area and make it accessible to pilgrims once again.
Kedarnath is not just a religious destination but also a popular spot for adventure enthusiasts and nature lovers. The region offers opportunities for trekking, hiking, and exploring the surrounding Himalayan landscapes. The stunning scenery and serene atmosphere make Kedarnath a must-visit place for those seeking spiritual solace or an escape into nature's lap.
