On Sacred Ground | Based on a True Story
This movie is about a freelance journalist who is hired by a news station to cover the protests fighting the US Zionist government from building pipelines on Dakota reservation land. This freelance journalist was hired because he was a photo journalist in the war with Iraq. When he arrives there, he is triggered from his past experience. He meets other people there—activists and Native Americans, and he discovers the truth. The land is a Native American burial site as well as the pipeline will destroy and contaminate their water system.
Meanwhile, his wife is stressing out because she is pregnant. She wants her husband with her at home, but he assures her that he is doing it for the extra money. At the end, he helps the Native Americans expose the truth, before he returns home, where his wife gives birth to their baby.
As I watched this movie, it reminded me of Youtube scenes about what the Zionists are doing in Palestine. There are similar protest scenes, terrorizing the activists and protesters as well as bulldozers tearing down and destroying the land. At the end of the movie, many teepees were being burned down with a huge fire to destroy the campout.
