"Don's account has been hacked," Andrew Surabian wrote on X, adding that a post claiming the former president died was "obviously not true."
In addition to fraudulently announcing the death of the elder Trump, the hijacked account claimed that Trump Jr. will run for president. Within minutes, the post had been reshared and seen hundreds of thousands of times on X. Another message purported to threaten North Korea, while a pinned post on the account's profile used a derogatory slur to mock President Joe Biden.
