I stubbornly gleam through my teens.
Heartbreak that's meant to crash the soul
Finds me somewhere deep down the road.

Grief catches the soul-
Decades later, who was naive to believe
That regret doesn't spread through the skin.
Unable to move in grief,
Or to stay in peace,
She regrets saying anything about regret at all.
