During a car accident, the "golden hour" is a very essential period of time for victims to receive first aid from doctors. A well-trained person can save victims' lives by preventing serious and fatal injuries.
As anyone travels on the road, each driver should be well trained in what course of action should be taken during an incident on the road.
According to Section 132 of the Indian Motor Vehicle Act, 1988, "it is the responsibility of motor vehicles to stop and assist the victims." Also, cooperate during the accident. In an emergency, the driver of one vehicle may cause the other vehicle to stop.
Furthermore, the victim may ask for or be told to remain stationary for as long as necessary, up to a maximum of 24 hours. It is the duty of the driver to stop in certain cases, according to Indian Vehicle Act 132.
Despite the local travelers, there should be a well-trained paramedical team, including technicians. They must be available on the national highway 24/7 in a radius of 20 to 30 kilometers. Thus, they should be able to reach the accidental spot within 40 to 45 minutes.
They should also be sufficient to provide first aid to the patient. However, in India, they are often ignored. Recent research shows almost 50–55 road crashes happen every hour. However, the rate of death has reached 11%. If we had a team of professional paramedics, we could save up to 90 percent. The report also says that 3 million people lost their lives in the last decade, and almost 500,000 cases have been resisted every year. Therefore, on average, the government agency has noted 150,000 deaths in 2021.
Secure golden hour
There are, of course, many preventive measures. Many well-developed countries are using technology to their advantage. Here is one of the few examples:
- Using a LIDAR (light detection and ranging) gun can help find the running vehicle speed and book the vehicle that crosses the speed limit.
- A speed detection display can also help the driver keep track of their vehicle's speed and alert them if it's going too fast or too slow.
- Variable message signs such as "road under construction," "speed limits," "road damage," "go slow," and so on can assist the driver in determining the best next step.
- inductive loops, which are nowadays widely used. It aids in the detection of traffic safety conditions on highways. In the graphical representation, electromagnetic waves are the main culprits in traffic detection.
One important component of many healthcare technologies is the "golden hour."
Healthcare is the first priority of human beings, and many healthcare technologies have evolved over time. I am not talking about the improvement of network and computer literacy, but how clinical jobs are being performed day by day. In India, there are cashless and paperless admissions in the hospitals.
They are called electronic health records (EHRs). The one serial number of the patient reveals the entire medical journey, including deaths, addresses, gender, family background, and many other things like that.
Today, developed cities strictly follow digital health care practices. Also, it helps them find the patient from the list of thousands. It improves patient care and experiences because, using the real-time information, they can update the source data in just a second. There is a lot of flexibility; you don’t have to stand in line, and it is better for both patients and clinicians.
Many healthcare organizations have adopted artificial intelligence to help uncover useful insights from their large collections, which was impossible in the past during golden hour. Blockchain in healthcare is one of the best technologies. It is used for gathering, verifying, and sharing data efficiently. Telehealth technology provided numerous benefits to patients during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mobile technology that had considered the most during golden hour
They could easily watch video software and apps on mobile phones and computers to tackle the world’s dangerous situations. Through Google's location technology, victims could easily find the nearest hospitals and choose the one that offered the best TAT.
Furthermore, smart ambulances are nowadays in working condition in India. These ambulances are providing a real-time stream of data to thousands of hospitals. Also, it is helpful for doctors to advise paramedics in the ambulance itself. This service is going to connect 300 cities by 2023. Reliance and Bharti Airtel have partnerships with many healthcare providers. It works best on 5G data.
Taking all of this into account, it is necessary to be aware of medical emergencies during the "golden hour." Most people do not have emergency numbers programmed into their mobile phones. There are numerous instances where ambulance drivers lack first aid training.
