Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion?
Met Gala 2024 took place on the first Monday of May, which is May 6th. The theme was The Garden of Time. I decided to watch a video of the live red-carpet event, located at Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The Costume Institute’s new exhibition is Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion. But this event looked more like a dark cult Illuminati Party. Some Youtubers described it as a Hunger Games Party because the wild outfits looked similar to the clothes that the Hunger Games character, Effie Trinket, often wore, which includes her neon-colored hair. The Hunger Games reference might also have to do with many actresses probably starving themselves for this event.
I will highlight some of the strange and surreal costumes, such as a yellow short dress, which has a transparent bulb-like second layer, filled with flower strands. Some dresses didn't make sense, such as a white torn t-shirt gown as well as a black gown and mesh veil that looks more like death. Such outfits had nothing to do with garden, nature, or time. But they might have dark cult symbolism. Many female celebrities had very long hair, down to their waist or longer. I haven’t had hair that long since I was a kid. Is very long hair the new trend? Or, do they want to promote the Morticia Addams look because Morticia is a fictional character about the dark cult? There were lots of beige gowns in weird shapes and textures as well as morbid black gowns and suits with dark cult symbolism. Male celebrities were dressed similar to vampires and warlocks. Most celebrities there stated that they were looking forward to hanging out with friends.
Zendaya looked high fashion and interesting because her posing resembled a quirky runway model as well as she is not photogenic. But something about her appearance looked dark, sinister, witchy, and satanic. On the other hand, model Gigi Hadid looked like she stepped out of a glamourous Old Hollywood set, dressed in a long white dress with 3D yellow flowers, green leaves, and vines. The lower part of her gown looked like huge ruffled white petals.
Some of the celebrities wore clothes made from sand, such as Tyla and her designer. The designer, Olivier Rousteing, explains how they molded the face on his sand blouse, and made it into a wearable blouse with a 3D face. It looks eerie but interesting, having a 3D sand face sticking out of his chest. The 3D sand face actually looked like his face. He wore this blouse with an open black jacket and black wide-legged pants. Cara Delevingne and Ed S. wore sustainable clothes and accessories. Such lab-grown diamond outfits were vegan, designed by Stella McCarthy. Michelle Yeoh wore an aluminum foil gown.
Demi Moore looked interesting, similar to an aging China doll with an orchid-design dress. The whole dress was actually shaped like an orchid. She also looked thinner than usual, which aged her even more. Her designer, Harris Reed, had an interesting pants outfit. He looked dramatic in a fancy pants costume with a weird shape top and a matching hat that looked like statue of liberty crown. He looked like a woman with his long blond hair. Demi’s very long hair was way below her ass. I wonder if she grew it that long or she wore extensions. She remined me of Morticia Addams from the Addams Family.
Karol G. was wearing prosthetic pointy ears to make her look like a fairy. This outfit looked more like a Halloween costume. Dressed in a pink pixie hair and a short white dress, with billowy sheer sleeves, and long sheer train, Michelle Williams looked childlike in her fairy costume. I think Elle Fanning was dressed as a fairy as well, but her gown looked like transparent cellophane. It almost looked like clear plastic.
Rosalia looks like death, or maybe she is going to a funeral, or even a satanic ritual for someone’s death. Ashley Graham wore a black tight gown with some white detailed floral design. She also looked like Morticia Addams. Dressed in head-to-toe black, with long black hair, Cardi B looked morbid, depicting death or even a funeral. The black train spread out on all sides, all over the floor around her. She had a Marge Simpson black hairdo.
Penelope Cruz' glamourous Old Hollywood look in a black gown and vintage hair was opposite of Arianna Grande's gown, made of Mother of Pearl, which is also her birthstone. Cynthia Erivo was dressed in a black suit and tie with white shirt. Colorful pink petals and sparkling gem decorated the cropped black jacket and long black skirt. She carried a small pink and gold purse. She had a gemmed pin at the back of her bald head as well as lots of earrings.
Kendall Jenner modeled different gowns. One gown was black detailed gown with lots of texture, but she looked like a young Morticia Addams. Jennifer Lopez wore a transparent gown, but she looked like Old Hollywood glamour because the dress was sexier. Emily Ratajkowski wore a transparent gown with detailed design. But she was obviously naked underneath her gown. Vera Wang looked scary because she was very thin with long dark brown hair and no makeup. She looked like an old Morticia Addams.
Nicole Kidman's white gown and long white gloves with black fluffy feathers underneath the white dress, appeared to symbolize masonic black and white Old Hollywood glamour. Kim Kardashian looked like she was wearing a corset to cinch her waist to a very small size, smaller than usual. Her dress looked like metal. Chloe Sevigny's Victorian style gown looked vintage, from another time.
Lana del Ray wore some kind of beehive dress, but it actually looked similar to something from a Rothschild Surreal Party. There were brown branches sticking out of her head, similar to antlers. Her beige gown was surrounded by embossed brown vine-like branches. She wore a huge beehive-like veil over her head and torso as well as held a strand of red rose. Anna Wintour wore a white gown with black long coat. The black coat had colorful 3D flowers in red, yellow, and green. Her hair was in her iconic bob. Her outfit looked like a masonic garden. Dressed in a short yellow dress with huge colorful flowers decorating the whole dress, Niki Minaj also wore yellow pumps and carried a small yellow purse.
A frequenter at these dark cult fashion parties, Sarah Jessica Parker wore head-to-toe beige with diamond detailing, which included the fancy hat and boots. The silver-colored purse had a weird shape. It looks like an outfit that dark cult elites wear because it is too matchy-matchy from head to toe. Lil Nas X wore a head-to-toe cream funky pant suit, which includes his cream-colored short afro. He had long nails in a diamond or clear shade.
Dressed in a black and red mermaid gown, La La Anthony looked satanic. Under her gown, she wore a sheer black lacy turtleneck. It looked interesting because the sheer lacy black gloves were part of the long sleeves. She also wore black fingernail polish. The fishtail part of the dress was red, and it had some kind of graphic picture, which looked satanic.
Gwendoline Christie looked like a vampiress, dressed in a red velvet gown and long black sheer cape. Her short blonde hair looked stiff, sticking outward like a teased sponge. She looked like a satanic elite. Usher looked like a Vampire Pimp, dressed in head-to-toe black suit, long black cape with a black rose pin, and a gunmetal gray fedora. There was a red accent on the jacket, as well as he held a fake red rose as an accessory to his outfit. It looked very dark-cult Illuminati.
Keke Palmer’s mummy-like gold gown looked like it was being unwrapped because strands hung loosely around her body and arms. Maybe she was trying to symbolize awakening the mummy from the dead? Then, there was Doja Cat, dressed in a wet white t-shirt gown, sticking to her naked body and displaying her naked breasts underneath. Her hair was a white-colored short afro. Metallic-colored makeup streaked down her face from her dark eye makeup. I am not sure what she was trying to symbolize—whether rain, flood, shower, or crying too much.
This year's Met Gala event reminded me of videos about the Rothschild surreal parties, filled with Illuminati symbolism and dark cult references. But some of the celebrities stuck to the theme about a garden from another era. Others were almost naked, while some women dressed in a formal gown and some men dressed in a formal suit. Some were safe, some were risque, and some were confused, lost in a chaotic costume that didn't make sense. I think this event is mostly a costume party for the elites, which involves promoting Illuminati symbolism and colors as well as surrealism. They also appeared to be reawakening the dead or even conjuring up the dead because of the morbid undertone. Or, they could be trying to bring out Old Hollywood Glamour that has died.
