My Meaning of Life: Science, Evolution, and a Search for The Ultimate Truth
Explore human origins and the meaning of life through the lens of evolutionary biology, DNA-research, and Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution. Contrast scientific discoveries with the history of religion, holy books, and blind faith. Are you ready to embrace self-determination, reject historical dogma, and actively decide how to live your one true life?
Why Do We Exist? The Age-Old Human Search for Meaning and Connection

More and more I try to understand the meaning of our lives, do you? Who are we, where do we come from, and where are we going? Most people put these questions in the hands of someone or something else. But who can you, or do they ask these questions, who would know the answer to these questions, and will they tell us? Is this god, Allah, Jesus, Mohammed, Zarathustra, Mary, Krishna, or perhaps another that I forget to mention here? Who do you turn to when you no longer see the meaning of life? Are there others who can tell you? Perhaps you sometimes ask your father or mother how this actually works, or other friends or distant relatives? Or do you,
like me, sometimes secretly think that there is actually no one who could tell a true word about this. Do you ever think that we are just a freak of mother nature, and that things just come and go and are therefore actually freaks of nature?

Evolutionary Biology vs. Divine Creation: What Science and Fossils Reveal About Human Origins
Watching a lot of nature documentaries on television often makes my jaw drop in amazement. Yes, science shows that humans and all mammals descended from a small, shrew-like mammal that lived in the shadow of the dinosaurs. This is supported by a combination of fossil finds, DNA-research and comparative anatomy. What else is told in these documentaries? After a lot of research in different sources, I came to the following conclusions. Obviously, you don't have to share these conclusions with me, and you don't even have to agree with these sources! The following steps are found to be true on these sources:
The Genetic Family Tree: DNA, Anatomy, and Our Shared Ancestry with Early Mammals
Step 1. The fossil record (the "early ancestors")
Small beginnings: Research on mammal revolution shows that the common ancestor of all placental mammals (including humans) was a small, insectivorous animal. After the dinosaurs: Shortly after the mass extinction of the dinosaurs (about 65-66 million years ago), these small mammals began to evolve. Early primates: Fossils such as Dryomomys szalayi (56 million years old) show that early primates were small, tree-dwelling tree dwellers.
Step 2. Molecular biology and DNA (the "genetic family tree")
Similarity in DNA: Humans share an astonishingly high percentage of their DNA with other mammals, indicating a recent common lineage. DNA clock: Molecular clocks (measuring mutations in DNA) confirm that the split between primates and other mammalian groups occurred when primate ancestors were still small, specialized animals.
Step 3. Anatomy and embryology (the "physique")
Comparative anatomy: All vertebrates (including fish, reptiles, and mammals) show the same basic structure, suggesting a common descent from an even older, small fish. Embryo development: Human embryos exhibit features reminiscent of early vertebrate ancestors at an early stage.
Important to know: Humans are not directly descended from today's spit mice or chimpanzees, but we share a common ancestor with them. That ancestor was a small, common mammal millions of years ago.
Charles Darwin’s Theory of Evolution: Is Our Existence Purely Biological?
Could this be the real truth, could it be that we are not a reason for our existence as human beings at all? Could it be that the reason for our existence is not a divine reason, but only a biological one? Would Charles Darwin (Shrewsbury, 12 February 1809 – Downe, 19 April 1882) be more right with his theory of evolution than we have ever dared and been allowed to dream? Gradually, as a person, I become more and more convinced of this, and I pity all those people who have limited themselves for god and country, and for faith, and then died, long before they could get the most out of their lives.
The Dark History of Religion: How Faith, Holy Books, and Belief Systems Shaped Humanity
What else does history say about this? After reading and studying many books about the history of faith, I think I know that faith can carry very dangerous things with it, and therefore can also cause a lot of suffering. Recently I have been able to learn a lot about and from the peoples who have preceded us on this earth. What I find most horrible is that these peoples or faith communities almost all appear to have been murdered by the religion or community that populated our earth after them. Think of the following order: The Pagans, The Gnostic, The Cathars and the Christians, who then distinguished themselves as Catholics, Reformed and Protestants. Do you know why you adhere to your faith, and what that has meant for the rest of humanity? Have you ever delved into these matters? Do you know exactly how the various holy books in our world came into being? Do you know exactly how much suffering your faith has caused to people of other faiths? Do you know how many innocent people your faith or fellow believers have unjustly killed, in the name of someone who may never have existed?
Mindful Living and Self-Determination: How to Take Control of Your Only Life
Do you dare to promise me and yourself the following? I believe and promise myself the following: That we as humans will die one day is an absolute certainty for me, but how, when, and where we will and will probably "almost" never know for sure. Fortunately, we can largely determine how we live "if we want", so do that too. So always decide from yourself: "Is this the life I want to lead myself"? Is this person who belongs to me also the person I want to live this life with, and who I want, and can love? Will you get the best out of yourself as a result? Could you or would you like to be even stronger, nicer, more empathetic? Decide! Breathe in, breathe out, and then decide. It's your life, and I think we only have one life. So it has to happen for you and me now, because I don't think you get more chances, But what do you think?
