The French artist who was an inspiration to the symbolist movement, Eugène Delacroix (26 April 1798 – 13 Aug 1860) was born at Saint Maurice, near Paris. He was well known for his romantic paintings, as well as leader of the French Romantic School. The skill of bringing romance on the paper of canvas proved unique and individualist.
